How to Get Back in Shape After Giving Birth / Pregnancy

To exercise again after having a baby is very individual and I can't stress enough that you get enough. If your goal is to get healthy and lose weight, retraining your body, including your pelvis, should be your first stop if you forget to do a strenuous exercise program while pregnant or after having your babies. Simple exercises you do during pregnancy, such as squats, deadlifts, push-ups and push-ups, help strengthen your muscles.

You already know that getting back to exercise should be a gradual process, but you can do more advanced core exercises, which are very specific to postpartum women, to smooth the post-baby bellies and get your body back around your baby. Start with simple exercises until you are four weeks after giving birth, and stick to floor exercises after you have had a C-section. Most doctors will set you free for these exercises, so don't forget them if you haven't done them yet. Your body will need some time to recover, especially after a caesarean and a few weeks of rest.

If you feel like exercising a few days or weeks after giving birth, it doesn't mean you should go back to CrossFit or sign up for six weeks of HIIT. The reality is that you don't have to immediately return to the pre-pregnancy shape. This takes time, and if you didn't fit your exercise routine during pregnancy, you shouldn't need a little longer. You may want to, but as a breastfeeding mother it won't last all the time. 

Genetics play a big role in how quickly your uterus and other organs shrink back after birth, and there is nothing you can do to speed that up.
